The Losers is breezy, fun read on page. It’s almost Garth Ennis like and that’s a compliment. Unfortunately with most thing Ennis-esque (eg Punisher), it just comes across as childishly retarded onscreen. I don’t even blame director Sylvain White because it’s hard to make material like this be big screen savvy. Vaughn did it magnificently with Kick-Ass but Vaughn is Vaughn - and let’s face it, the guy who did Layer Cake is obviously gonna do a better job than the guy who did Stomp the Yard. I did expect better from writers Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) and James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) though. The Losers just ends up being a decent timewaster that combines the lamest elements of The A-Team with the idiocy of a Brosnan Bond film.
