Time to link you guys up with my last batch of reviews. It’s been a horribly weak summer for movies so I won’t bother to elaborate too much on terribly bad (Killers) or the passably average (She’s Out of My League). Instead I’ll make special mention for Giuseppe Tornatore’s (Cinema Paradiso) Baarìa. What a phenomenal achievement - an epic about a city and family that captures your imagination in its ambrosial autobiography and never lets go. If there’s a saving grace to June movies, this is it.
