Leonardo DiCaprio’s early roles get a bad rep. Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet was great. Plus it had Claire Danes being all purty in that aquarium scene (scene starts at 5:30) when they first meet. I think this movie unequivocally proved that the only thing that can improve upon Shakespeare are kitschy musical numbers involving Prince covers and gangsters speaking in iambic pentameter.
